Wood you like to make some Monotypes?
This 8-week course will explore Reduction Woodcut and Monoprinting techniques. Participants will learn how to make multicolor woodcut prints from a single block of wood. “Reduction” printing involves cutting and printing the woodblock in stages. As successive areas of the block are cut away, inked and printed, the image builds in subtlety and complexity. In combination with the Reduction printing, students will learn basic monoprinting techniques and focus on the differences between Monotypes and Monoprints. All skill levels welcome.
