In this particular workshop, you will learn how to draw Chinese plum tree or bird.  You will experience how the different shades of black ink mixed with colors can create the magic harmony of yin and yang, tranquility and wonder. Participants will enjoy the spontaneity, simplicity and creativity of the medium and its deep philosophical meaning.
Painting materials: All painting materials (brushes, ink, rice papers, paints, and felt) will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own above materials. In addition, please bring the following items:

1. Cups or containers for water for painting and palette (white color plate is fine)
2. Newsprint or drawing papers for doing practice

Workshop on Women's Exploration of
Past, Present and Future Self Through Photo-Journaling

Sunday, November 12th
1:00pm to 4:00pm

Professional photographer Cathy Lander-Goldberg, MSW, LCSW, of Photo Explorations, will facilitate an experiential workshop for women. Participants will use collage and journaling to explore old photos brought to the workshop. Then, each woman will work with Cathy to create a self-portrait representing her present self and a portrait of the hope for her future self.
1-2 p.m. Introductions and creative journaling activities with copies of photos participants bring to workshop
2-3 p.m. self -portrait activities (in gallery) related to present and future self
3-4 p.m. journaling activities for self-reflection with new portraits

Participants should bring:
8 to 10 significant photos of their past. (Participants do not, necessarily, need to be in all of the photos.)
An oversized unlined journal or sketchpad, double stick tape or glue & writing utensils
(optional - outfit changes, props, collage material)
Members: $65.00
Non-Members: $80.00

Includes workshop fee and 2 -4"x6" portraits printed at event to use in journal. Participants will have access to digital images taken that day and permission to reproduce images at the lab of their choice.
