Collectors Choice Frequently Asked Questions
Collectors Choice is a unique fundraising event created by St. Louis Artists’ Guild members and artists to support the Guild and its educational programs. It also gives artists, who donate a piece of art for the event, an opportunity to showcase their work in the elegant galleries of the St. Louis Artists' Guild.
The Opening occurs on Friday, May 20, 2011 when ticket holders receive their catalogs, view the artwork, and prioritize their list, along with enjoying live music in the tent on the beautiful patio of the St. Louis Artists’ Guild. The Event, where ticket holders choose their pieces of original art when their names are called, takes place on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the St. Louis Artists’ Guild in the elegant mansion at Two Oak Knoll Park in Clayton, Missouri.
More than 150 regional artists donate art; each piece valued at least $250. Sale of tickets is limited to the number of pieces of donated artwork. The Collectors Choice Opening on Friday, May 20, 2011 is an opportunity to view the art, meet many of the donating artists, and enjoy the hospitality of the Guild. At the Collectors Choice Event on Sunday, June 12, 2011, attendee tickets are randomly drawn and ticket holders select one piece of original donated art. Every ticket holder leaves the event with a piece of original art.
Both the ticket holders and the artists, who donate art, benefit from Collectors Choice. Ticket holders for $150 ($165 after March 1) have the opportunity to attend two parties representing Collectors Choice – the Opening and the Event – plus receive an original piece of art that is valued at $250 or more. Artists gain great visibility for having their work shown in the distinctive and elegant galleries at the St. Louis Artists’ Guild. In addition, their artwork is published in a beautiful color catalog.
Proceeds from the fundraiser go towards the programs of the St. Louis Artists’ Guild along with the maintenance of the historic mansion. Guild-sponsored art programs include all age levels of artists. The Guild presents national and regional art shows and competitions for public viewing at the Guild’s facility in Oak Knoll Park in Clayton, Missouri.
