Indonesian Study Abroad Program 2010
We're going to Indonesia! Want to come with us?
The St. Louis Artists' Guild is taking the lead in a collaboration between the Artists' Guild, the Indonesian Consulate General in Chicago and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Washington, D.C., and ArtDimensions, to initiate an Indonesian study-abroad program for artists. The trip to Indonesia will be for a seventeen-day period in November 2010. While in Indonesia, these artists will immerse themselves in the country's rich culture to create work inspired by Indonesian art and design, culminating in an art exhibition in one of Jakarta's top galleries. This cultural exchange will be a valuable opportunity for both countries to learn more about each other's arts and culture, and to strengthen international bonds.
The St. Louis Artists' Guild will be sending a delegation of artists representing the artistic richness and diversity of the St. Louis region. St. Louis artists participating in the 2010 study abroad program include: Alicia LaChance, Robert Longyear, Gina Alvarez, Amanda Verbeck, Myles Keough, Jeremy Rabus, Sophia Dalpiaz-Brown, Timothy Wagner, and Davide Weaver.
The St. Louis Artists' Guild and the Indonesian Study Abroad Program's organizing committee are currently accepting applications from artists to join our delegation to Indonesia this year. If you are interested in going to Indonesia, please send the following to Davide Weaver:
- Three full-color JPEG images of your artwork
- Artists' statement and a curriculum vitae
- A brief statement explaining why you would like to go to Indonesia and how you think the trip to Indonesia would benefit your artistic development
You can email these materials, or mail them to the St. Louis Artists' Guild:
