Internships
The St. Louis Artists’ Guild offers unpaid internships to assist students in gaining experience with a non-profit arts organization. Credit for hours worked can be arranged with individual colleges and universities. Supervision is provided.
The Guild provides internship opportunities for:
- Students interested in the arts
- Students wanting to gain experience with a local organization that has culturally supported the St. Louis community since 1886 - over 120 years.
- Grantsmanship Intern. This is an excellent opportunity for students who are knowledgeable and enjoy internet search engines and want to develop grant writing skills. Some travel to St. Louis City Library may be required. Supervision provided and credits arranged.
The intern will work on a number of projects to assist in organizing the current and upcoming exhibitions. Graphic artists will design and complete flyers and announcements. Interns will have the opportunity to staff the receptionist desk on at least two occasions. This is one of the most important jobs at the Guild because it is the hub of all activity and includes meeting members of the community, other artists, and gaining a better understanding of everything the Guild has to offer.
The St. Louis Artists’ Guild will ask the student/intern what they want to accomplish while interning at the Guild and provide as much experience in that area as possible. The Grantsmanship Internship is an excellent opportunity for students who are knowledgeable and enjoy internet search engines and want to develop grant writing skills.
The Guild supports the community by offering a free venue to view local and national exhibitions, experience children’s outreach programs, free professional artists’ demonstrations, classes, workshops, and provide a much needed space for all who want to come and create for free or nominal fee.
The St. Louis Artists’ Guild has the only off campus Print Studio available to anyone who has the knowledge to work the presses. No instructor is available on site.
