Sections
The Artists’ Guild offers the following sections for members to pursue special interests within the broad scope of the Guild’s offerings:
Architecture Section
The Architecture Section is a regional resource for the examination, critique and exhibition of architecture as a fine art in the context of a sustainable approach to the built environment.
Our group is open to architects, builders, designers, engineers, architectural historians, writers, critics, planners, policy makers and artists who have a passionate interest in the built environment and in our region. We see great value in crossing disciplinary boundaries as a means to advance the level of critical discourse of the built environment.
We are particularly interested in sustainability and preservation and we can easily imagine other topics and areas of interest which would be brought to the table by membership.
Visit the Architecture Section's blog for more information about meetings and activities.
Art Section
Regular monthly meetings of the Art Section provide information relating to the arts in the form of social gatherings, programs, lectures, demonstrations, and workshops. Programs begin with sharing unusual media techniques with the group.
Membership in the Art Section of the St. Louis Artists’ Guild is open to all Guild members in good standing. Signature members qualify by having work accepted in three (3) Guild shows.
Artisans’ Section
The Artisans section is an alliance of professional artists focused on generating community interest and awareness of the specialty trades through example, advocacy, and education. Creative Artisans are individuals trained in and performing tasks associated with the creative arts, including, but not limited to: sculpture, painting (murals, etc), restoration, ceramics, glass working, wood working, (carving, restoration, etc).
Section meetings are open to all and will feature a speaker at the beginning of the evening followed by short break and a business session for section members.
Illustration Section
The Illustration Section meets every second Tuesday in the Emerson gallery of the St Louis Artists’ Guild. We always welcome artists to come and enjoy the speakers and demonstrations. Generally we have local artists - some of them our own section members, who discuss their current work and their career history. The discussions are entertaining, and more than a little inspiring to those of us in the audience.

Photography Section
See our Blog for more information on individual dates.
Anyone who wishes to make a presentation to the group is encouraged to do so. Let Jim Trotter know if you would like to be scheduled as a presenter. Anyone wanting to present their work (~10 images or so) at the beginning of each meeting is welcome to do so. Email Jim Trotter to schedule your night in the spot light.
