Sections at the Guild
The St. Louis Artists’ Guild offers a number of Sections which explore topics of special interest to smaller groups within the Guild's broad range of offerings. Most sections meet once a month, but the Architecture Section meets twice each month.
Meeting dates and places may vary, so sign up for our newsletter or follow our section blogs to stay current on meeting schedules.
Architecture Section
The Architecture Section is a regional resource for the examination, critique and exhibition of architecture as a fine art in the context of a sustainable approach to the built environment.
Our group is open to architects, builders, designers, engineers, architectural historians, writers, critics, planners, policy makers and artists who have a passionate interest in the built environment and in our region. We see great value in crossing disciplinary boundaries as a means to advance the level of critical discourse of the built environment.
We are particularly interested in sustainability and preservation and we can easily imagine other topics and areas of interest which would be brought to the table by membership.

Artisans’ Section
The Artisans section is an alliance of professional artists focused on generating community interest and awareness of the specialty trades through example, advocacy, and education. Creative Artisans are individuals trained in and performing tasks associated with the creative arts, including, but not limited to: sculpture, painting (murals, etc), restoration, ceramics, glass working, wood working, (carving, restoration, etc).
Section meetings are open to all and will feature a speaker at the beginning of the evening followed by short break and a business session for section members.

Fine Arts Section
The Fine Arts Section (formerly the Art Section) is open to all Artists’ Guild members and features demonstrations, lectures, social events, and opportunities to meet and visit with other artists. Members are encouraged to participate in juried art shows and special exhibitions, and to actively support the Artists’ Guild. An “arts trip to Chicago” June 2, returning June 3, 2012 is open to all Guild members.
Illustration Section
The Illustration Section meets every second Tuesday in the Emerson gallery of the St Louis Artists’ Guild. We always welcome artists to come and enjoy the speakers and demonstrations. Generally we have local artists - some of them our own section members, who discuss their current work and their career history. The discussions are entertaining, and more than a little inspiring to those of us in the audience.

Anyone who wishes to make a presentation to the group is encouraged to do so. Let David Coblitz know if you would like to be scheduled as a presenter. Anyone wanting to present their work (~10 images or so) at the beginning of each meeting is welcome to do so. Email David Coblitz to schedule your night in the spot light.
