A national juried exhibit that investigates the current or historic forced or voluntary relocation of individuals or groups of people who no longer inhabit their place of origin. Artists are encouraged to explore the complexities of this theme today and throughout history from a personal perspective. Areas to be considered include slavery, apartheid, war, homelessness, and diaspora/relocation motivated by culture, politics, religion, finance, and climate. Series Coordinator Christopher Braig presents his first long form “Sonic Installation” Unbridled: Journey to Chevaux combining music dance and the acoustics of the performance space.
Indiana University Professor of Trumpet Pat Harbison joins Christopher’s working group of Steve Davis on drums and Ben Wheeler on bass for this cross disciplinary performance. Patrick Harbison's many recordings as a jazz trumpeter includea1999 solo debut, AfterAll.In addition to appearances as leader, his recording credits include the Psycho Acoustic Orchestra, the Blue Wisp Big Band, and David Baker's 21st Century Bebop Band.

Join us for St. Louis Artists' Guilds first installment in the Sculptures in Sound Concert Series. Michael Vlatkovich, trombonist, composer, and arranger, is one fo the leading talents among Los Angeles improvisational players.
Located on the West Coast since 1973, he is an emotionally charged performer, comfortable in a variety of jazz and world music styles. Vlatkovich has performed extensively in the United States, Canada, and Europe. His improvisationally free music expresses raw power and beauty in a minimally structured format. He is joined by Saxophonists Jay Hutson and Christopher Braig.

This workshop will focus on how a work of art can change with the subject transforming over time. The male model (in costume) will assume three poses per hour. Poses will range form modest to theatrical. The wardrobe choices will range the same way: modest to theatrical. At the start the subject will be dressed in casual clothing.
