George Myles, "Hecho en Mexico — 20 Grados de Latitud Norte"

George Myles

My mother and her father were painters. From an early age I learned a great deal from them. My father was a gifted photographer. By my second year of school I was using medium and large format view cameras and spending many hours in the darkroom. At age seven I began serious study of music through private lessons. Piano, performance, composition, music theory, and orchestration are subjects of ongoing study. I took several art classes at Meramec Community College, and briefly studied at what was then called St. Louis Conservatory and School for the Arts. In 2012, one of my pieces received an award for Second Place in the St. Louis Artists’ Guild’s Collectors Choice exhibition. Later that year, I relocated to Mexico, where my artwork developed in ways I couldn’t have foreseen. My work is now featured in several private and corporate collections in Mexico.

Connected by Process

Overwhelmed by Elizabeth Conn and Eddy 18 by Marlene DiFiori Locke

In Connected by Process, Elizabeth Conn and Marlene DiFiori Locke continue to discover ways of pushing their materials in new directions to make art.

Besides being connected by their interest in a multilayered process of creating, they share artistic ideas with the theme of "controlling the uncontrollable" such as the wind, junk mail, romance... By making sculpture and paintings out of events that seem to happen randomly, Elizabeth and Marlene are ordering their world into a safer, concrete and more controlled creative environment.

Eugene Ruble: Absolute Abstracts

Mixed media piece by Eugene Ruble

In this solo exhibition, Eugene Ruble explores shape, form, color, composition, and harmony through abstract, mixed-media compositions. Ruble says " I've considered abstract art to be an iconic enigma of painting as well as drawing that's drawn into the expresssive mood of one's own deepest feelings of inner consciousness."

Eugene Ruble holds an Associates Degree in Fine Arts from Forest Park Community College and a degree in Multi-Media and Fine Arts from Washington University in St. Louis (1972). He has held positions as an Illustrator, Art Director, and Consultant for companies such as Boeing Aircraft, Monsanto, and Emerson. He has since turned his attention to creating award-winning, mixed-media sculptures and engravings. In addition, Ruble also illustrates children’s educational books for a local publisher. Ruble is an avid collector of found and discarded objects, which he uses to create his recycled sculptures. He finds extreme pleasure in the tactile quality of the objects he uses to create his works.
