Description: In this two-day workshop, participants will work with Artist Kelsey Viola Wiskirchen to explore pattern, painting and embroidery. Beginning with graph paper, you will learn strategies for creating different types of repeat-pattern, like what can be found in fabric yardage and wallpaper. Kelsey will then teach methods for translating your hand-drafted patterns into a combination of acrylic painting and embroidery to create dynamic, dimensional patterned cloth. Embroidery stitches taught will include couching, satin stitch, and french knots, some of the artist's favorite dynamic stitch techniques. 16+
