Monday Night Print | Collagraphy

Briana Kagy will lead participants through the versatile and experimental printmaking technique known as collagraphy. A collagraph printing plate is made by collaging textured materials on a hard backing. These materials can include acrylic media, fabric paint, carborundum, plant material, string, fabric, tape, and many more possibilities. Students are encouraged to bring in their own textures to try! The textured plate is sealed, coated with ink, and printed onto a soft printmaking paper on one of our presses. We will work with various inking techniques to see the influence of color and tone on the final print. The process results in a rich printed texture you can both see and feel. $10 at the door
