Ann Gale, Robert, oil on canvas

instructor: Bryan Robertson

8 weeks | Wednesdays 6:00pm to 8:30pm | April 10 to May 29

The figure is one of the most common themes found in historical and contemporary painting. The human figure can transmit psychological messages and imprint upon the viewer a multitude of emotions. In this class, we will work directly from the model, while we address issues of form, proportions, and disposition. Specific topics to be covered include gesture, balance, proportion, movement, mass, and anatomy. Additionally, this class will serve as an introduction to the versatility of water mixable oil paints as both a method of staining the paint surface and building thicker, juicier marks.

Members: $165 | Non-Members: $195 price includes model fee
