Introduction to Dry Point and Etching

Tuesdays, 8 weeks

June 12 to August 7 from 10:00am -12:30pm

Students will learn the basic techniques and technical aspects of both dry point printing and etching with a copper plate. Students should should come prepared with a couple of photographic images that are black and white and have the ability to become line drawings or students may use their own drawings or sketches mirrored if possible (size of 6 x 9”). We will discuss how to do image transfers on the first day. Students will be introduced to all aspects of the printing process, from inking, to preparing paper and making an edition. 16+

Price includes most supplies (Additional Supplies: scribe for etching and dry point, paper for printing, sketchbook and pencil)
