Introduction to Reductive Printmaking

This introductory class will teach you the process of reduction printing using linoleum blocks. A reduction print is a multicolor print in which the artist separates colors by printing from the same block at different stages of carving.  Students will create an edition of at least one print. During the first class, the instructor will demonstrate the process, discuss tools and paper and help students decide on imagery. Age 16 + There are a few sets of carving tools available to borrow during class.  Students are responsible for purchasing their own paper and linoleum blocks. Ink is provided.
