Luke Firle is a painter, sculptor and printmaker. He holds an MFA in Studio Art from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 2017 and a BFA in painting from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2002. Luke’s current studio practice looks at issues of consumerism, capitalism, and Americanism vs. sustainability, conservation, preservation, and reuse combined with repeated histories, acts, and actions and their impacts on one another. He is currently an adjunct instructor at Jefferson College, in Hillsboro, Missouri. He previously taught drawing 1 and Core Concepts: Image at the University North Carolina-Chapel Hill. And Tool and Techniques at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri. And has regularly shown his work regional and nationally.
