Students will explore the printing process through a variety of hands-on activities in our printmaking studio and inspired by the paper exhibit in the gallery. Stamp-making, screen-printing, sun and monoprinting are some of the methods students will use to create unique works of art.

June 25-June 29 All About Paper

Times: Monday–Friday, 9am-12pm

Instructor: Kami Chavarin

Paper is more than just a surface! Students will create artwork with paper by folding, molding and shaping it into new dimensions. Projects will include papermaking, paper casting, bookmaking and origami and will be inspired by the paper exhibit in the gallery.

July 16-July 20  Assembly Required

Ages: 6-10

Students will learn about the tradition of assemblage art and the many methods of creating artwork from found objects. Projects will include building with wood and cardboard, collage and image transfers, as well as repurposing salvaged materials.

July 23-July 27 Textile Studio

Instructor: Kelsey Viola Wiskirchen

Students will be immersed in the rich traditions of textile art, including fabric dyeing, stamping and sewing inspired by African and Indian cloths and American traditions of quilting. Students will work towards creating a final work of art that showcases their skills.
