Alternative Methods for Drawing Workshop
May 30 and 31, 2026
Saturday and Sunday, 2 days
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Instructor: Dr. Michael Faris
In this two day workshop, students of all skill levels will be experimenting with a variety of methods in applying charcoal and liquid graphite in abstract and nonobjective ways to create unique stained surfaces, called “decalomania.” On day one, students will apply the liquid graphite using waxed paper, Saran wrap, and brushes. On day two, after the drying time, students will transform their creations from day one into abstract or nonobjective drawings to create finished pieces.
Supplies are included in the cost of the workshop.
Members $85 | Non-Members $125
If you must cancel, please email (info@stlouisartistsguild.org) or call STLAG. A refund will be given only if cancellation occurs seven days prior to the first day of class. No exceptions. Refunds will be processed minus a $25 withdrawal fee per course registration.
