Collage With Words Workshop

Collage Poetry is a creative art form that combines words, phrases, or entire lines from outside sources. In this class we will work at the intersection of collage and poetry, combining different collage techniques with meaningful words to create a visual poem or story. The class will begin with a short introduction about the history of collage. Following, students will create a collage poem on a folding book. We will explore some of the most common themes in poetry such as love, death, nature, identity, or time.

This workshop is for all artistic levels and no prior experience is required.

All materials are included in the cost of the workshop, but students are encouraged to bring any material they would like to collage with ex: photos, magazines, printed materials, drawings, books, portraits, colored/textured paper.

We will take a 30 minute break around noon, bring a snack!

If you must cancel, please email (info@stlouisartistsguild.org) or call STLAG. A refund will be given only if cancellation occurs seven days prior to the first day of class. No exceptions. Refunds will be processed minus a $25 withdrawal fee per course registration.
