Dina Fachin

Dina Fachin was born and raised in Italy. She moved to Saint Louis in 2008 after receiving her Ph.D. in Native American Studies from the University of California, Davis. She comes from a family where art and music were like homemade bread, always on the table, fresh and nurturing. Her multimedia work on paper in watercolor, ink, and dry media emerges from memories of her homeland, her academic background in literature and Latin American indigenous cultures, and her concern about climate change. Dina is also a Mindfulness practitioner and a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) qualified teacher. Her artistic practice is founded on contemplation and self-inquiry, and she is looking forward to implement educational programs that foster mindfulness and creative self-expression in the Saint Louis community and back home.
