Douglas Simes


Douglas Simes moved to St. Louis in 2019 from New York City. His drawings have been seen in several group exhibitions in New York and St. Louis. A portrait in sanguine pencil on view in Art Saint Louis XXXVI, the Exhibition, received an award of excellence from the show’s juror, Meredith Malone, Associate Curator at the Kemper Art Museum. Douglas has also shown at the Fontbonne University Art Gallery, the St. Louis Artists’ Guild, the Soulard Art Gallery and the Framations Gallery in St. Charles, Missouri. His photographs of the St. Louis riverfront and rural southeast Missouri were the subject of two solo exhibitions, one at the New York Public Library, another in New Madrid at the River Walk Galler.
