From Print To Surface: Inkjet Image Transfers

May 23 , 2026

Saturday 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Instructor: Pat Barton

Join us for a short Saturday workshop with Pat Barton! We will learn the technique of “Inkjet Transfer Printing”, a nontoxic technique of transferring inkjet-printed photos, artwork or scans onto paper by hand. Students will learn the process, and get to make prints of their own images! This is a process that can easily be done at home once you learn it.

The process is nontoxic, printing an image onto transfer transparency material with an inkjet printer. The image is then transferred by hand onto printmaking paper simply using hand sanitizer. Each transfer is a unique hand-pulled image that can stand on its own or be combined with traditional art media like drawing materials!

Students will practice the process on a pre-printed image, and then experiment with their own images! This process can go quickly, students can make up 10 prints.

Most materials are provided. Students must bring their own Rives BFK printmaking paper, and must come prepared with images (digital images should be sent in, physical images can be scanned. More info to follow!)

Member $100 | Non-Member $150
