Geometric Collage, Dreaming of Landscapes

February 7, 2026

Saturday, 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM

Instructor: Paola Scharberg

16+

In this workshop, students will make a geometric collage to create an artwork of contrasting or complementing landscapes. Artists have created landscape artworks since ancient times. In this class, we will make a contemporary and minimalistic landscape. We will explore how colors and content combine to merge into each other to convey a sense of place or places. We will begin the class showing examples of possible compositions followed by a quick tutorial on how to use a precision knife to create perfect parallel lines. Students will then spend the rest of the class creating their collage with input and advice from the instructor. This class will require technicality and precision with cutting and glueing. By the end of the class, students will have created a unique landscape.

This workshop is for all artistic levels and no prior experience is required.

Materials are provided, but students are encouraged to bring any landscape imagery they’re interested in using!

We will take a 30 minute break around noon, bring a snack!
