Introduction to Abstract Ink Painting
November 11 - December 2, 2025
4 weeks, Tuesdays, 10AM - 12:30PM
Instructor: Sarah Knight
In this class, students will learn how the properties of ink and water can be used to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind paintings. Perfect for those who like surprises, a fast-paced process, or those challenging themselves to loosen up, this class will use fun and experimental methods and unconventional tools to help students explore chance, balance, and mark making in their work. Demonstrations will include the basics of paper preparation and tool use, “water resist” drawing, layering with ink, nature collaboration (think rain drops!), and meditative painting. Students will learn to collaborate with their materials, embrace the unexpected, and work at their own pace to create one or multiple pieces.
This class is for all skill levels, and no prior experience is required. Both beginning and advanced creatives are welcome!
