Marcia is an artist living and working in St. Louis. Through painting, drawing, and printmaking, Marcia finds a language that goes beyond any other. She uses basic, formal elements such as color, line, and value, to communicate a mood or a sensory experience. Her first marks are intuitive, even random, and her planning is limited to a few materials, the size of the surface, and sometimes a color palette. However minimal those first few bits may be, they take her somewhere, and give her the task of responding. At that point her focus sharpens, her decisions are more thoughtful and deliberate, and the work becomes a composition. Marcia studied art in St. Louis and Chicago, and she holds a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
