RE-Think Portraiture- Collage what’s in your head
October 11, 2025
10am-1:30pm
Instructor: Paola Scharberg
Adults and youth 16+
Portraiture is one of the oldest genres in art. In this class, we will re-invent portraiture through collage. Students will create a collage that represents their interests and identities. Students will be exposed to different collage techniques and styles. In this class we will also briefly go over the history of collage and some of the most influential artists. By the end of the class, students will have created a unique portrait.
This class is for all artistic levels and no prior experience is required.
The instructor will provide a variety of images of heads for students to choose from but students are welcome to bring their own.
All materials are included in the cost of the workshop, but students are encouraged to bring any material they would like to collage with ex: photos, magazines, printed materials, drawings, books, portraits.
We will take a 30 minute break around noon, bring a snack!
