Anatomy for Artists - Beginner to Advanced
January 12 - March 2, 2026
8 Weeks, Mondays, 6-8:30PM
Instructor: Mel Tychonievich
Anatomy for Artists is a class designed to familiarize students with constructive and functional human anatomy within the context of perceptual figure drawing. Each week, students will focus on developing a structural understanding of different muscle and bone groupings in the human body and then learn how to apply these constructions to a live human form. The class will alternate between a lecture and life drawing format – one week students will learn about structure and the next week they will apply it to drawing from the live model. This class is appropriate for all levels of drawing – from a beginner artist who is just starting their figure drawing journey to a seasoned draftsman looking to continue to hone their skill.
See syllabus for material list, and plan for each week of class.
