Landscape Composition Workshop
April 21 and 28, 2026
2 weeks, Tuesdays, 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM,
Instructor: Elzara Yusufova
This intensive two-day workshop is dedicated to landscape composition and is designed for intermediate and advanced artists who are actively practicing and want to deepen their understanding of how to see and build a compelling landscape.
The focus of the workshop is on developing an artist’s way of thinking, rather than copying what we see. In reality, most landscapes are visually chaotic or appear “boring” when translated directly from nature or a photograph. In this workshop, you will learn how to transform such scenes into strong, expressive, and harmonious compositions.
Artists choose what kind of paint to work with, please choose easy-to-use materials that allow for quick work and fast setup. Most of the workshop will focus on composition through pencil sketches, with color used as a supporting tool.
See syllabus for material list.
